Absolving God — condemning the violationIn our philosophy, "evil" is a mandatory component of human evolution. It is one of the essential elements of the animal-to-human metamorphosis.
If we proceed from the "perfect couple" of Adam and Eve (as monotheisms describe them), evil would actually be a "sin" — humanity deliberately sowing disorder in the order of things.
But if we proceed from the "natural primate" as evolutionism posits, things are different. On this site we of course support this view. In this version, the metamorphosis of the animal into the human requires the presence of evil. This negative force loses all its religious dimension and becomes an inevitable part of the animal-human transformation — a timely and essential tool of our transformation.
Evil, understood this way, no longer prevents us from seeing the meaning of humanity. It is not the sign of the absurdity of the world or the senselessness of human behaviour. We can demonstrate the inevitability of its presence and its highly jurisprudential character. By the scandal it raises — or rather, should constantly raise — evil helps humanity to consolidate and build good.
At that point, being corresponds to "what should be". And evil no longer carries the classical negative value attributed to it. To face the question of God regarding evil, let us use the thought of Spinoza: "We must force ourselves to understand the real instead of wishing it to our convenience." Evil then becomes:
Since evil is necessary for our evolution, theodicy does not need to charge humanity in order to exonerate God. We do not have to blame God for the presence of evil in humanity. Nor can humanity be convicted for belonging to a system that requires evil. This negative power is one of the instruments of good. Humanity is compelled to use this instrument while simultaneously fighting to move toward perfection.

Ce n'est pas une utopie. C'est une trajectoire déjà visible, inscrite dans l'histoire depuis le premier primate. Lentement. Imparfaitement. Mais dans une direction.
